Peter Pedersen Trio

Danish guitarist and composer Peter Pedersen returns with a new statement in jazz on the upcoming album A Song for A, set for release 06 february 2026. Featuring the dynamic interplay of Niels Ryde (bass) and Jacob Melchior (drums), the Peter Pedersen Trio traverses a broad musical landscape where tradition and innovation meet with natural ease.

Rooted in jazz yet deeply informed by Pedersen’s training in both jazz and classical guitar, A Song for A showcases original compositions that blend expressive melodic storytelling with technical sophistication. Pedersen’s music draws on the freedom of jazz improvisation and the structural clarity of classical technique, resulting in a sound that is at once intimate and expansive.

With more than a decade of formal musical study and a firm command of stylistic nuance, Pedersen brings a fresh voice to the jazz trio format. Niels Ryde, a virtuoso bassist with over 40 years of experience, brings a commanding yet lyrical foundation, while Jacob Melchior, active on the New York jazz scene since 1994, contributes rhythmic depth and a wide palette of musical colors. Together, their experience and artistry amplify the trio’s chemistry, crafting music that resonates in both intimate club settings and on larger stages.

A Song for A is a deeply personal artistic journey — a celebration of musical dialogue, refined technique, and original expression that invites listeners into a richly textured world of emotion, nuance, and creativity.
